El Dorado County Search & Rescue is an all-volunteer arm of the Sheriff's Office, with more
than
200 members covering the West slope and East slop of the Sierra Nevada's and the Lake
Tahoe Basin in California. Since our territory includes popular foothill and alpine terrain, we
maintain a variety of units and teams. These volunteers are of various ages, genders,
backgrounds, and skill levels, all dedicated to saving lives by expending themselves in
Search & Rescue. The Swiftwater Team has 19 members that are SRT
-1 or SRT-A trained. The
team trains every month on many different types of water related rescues and skills.
